Hardware
You need a Tesla diagnostic cable plus an OBDLink LX or an Enhance Commander. Demo if you just want to look around first.
Links go to the maker. We don’t take a cut.
Two pieces
- The cable — match year, Highland, Juniper. Tesla’s cabin OBD hole is VIN and 12V. A cheap “Tesla Bluetooth” stick there won’t talk to this app.
- One adapter — LX or Commander.
Cables
We don’t sell cables. Scan My Tesla keeps a list by car — different app, useful page:
Going Commander? Enhance includes a car-specific cable at checkout.
OBDLink LX
Bluetooth path. Get the LX, not a nameless ELM clone. It plugs into the Tesla diagnostic cable, not the dummy port.
Enhance Commander
Gen2, Wi‑Fi, ScanMyTesla support on in the S3XY app. TeslaSleuth uses that local network; the rest of the phone keeps the internet. One telemetry app at a time — close Scan My Tesla before you connect.
enhauto.com — Commander + cable
Already have their cable? Gen2 only. Then setup.
Skip
- Mystery “ELM327 Tesla” sticks.
- Cables that only say “Model 3/Y” with no year.
Park and power down the way the cable maker shows before you go under the trim. Then setup.
